This past week my direct boss gave her notice. It was not a surprise. Most people were taking bets that she would do this before our year end which is at the end of the month. Of course her last day will be timed to do just that. She had to give the notice on Wednesday because the word was spreading outside the company. I think she would have easily waited until Friday just to stretch it out. Of course this makes things very hectic. My new director has told us who will be replacing her and she will be internal. But I hear that there might be some issue with that so I do not know yet how it will all work out. I am just tired of all of the changes and maybe just in general. All of this will just make longer hours and more time away from my family. I don't know how much appreciation me and my two reports will receive for all this extra stress and work. That is really what it has come down to. Everyone is leaving because they are not being recognized for the hard work and effort they put forth. We see another department get ahead and be treated like darlings while we have been in the same positions and our staff has been cut and our workload has increased. Sometimes you will only take so much before you start to get fed up.
