In the Mowing - Winslow Homer

I came home today to find this in my mailbox.  Thanks to an awesome friend who sent this to me, I now know the title and artist of the painting that used to hang in my grandmother's dining room.  I cannot even begin to tell you how happy this made me!  I am so excited.  After finding my own photo of it, I was convinced it wasn't a real painting by a known artist and I would never be able to find a poster to frame for my home.  I have been looking at posters and contemplating how big of a print to buy all night.

It's funny how after all those years of it hanging on the wall, I didn't pay it much notice.  It was like white noise to me.  I never really asked my grandmother about it which I now regret.  My husband was teasing me tonight saying that maybe the painting was an original signed copy and it could have been worth a fortune if only I had asked her about it.  LOL!  Oh well, easy come, easy go.  Knowing my grandparents it was probably a copy but who knows.

All I know is that now it has come back into my life and I couldn't be happier.  I have some of the most awesome friends!
